Give that company a Gold Medal
Passengers landing at Gatwick airport are being greeted by a giant naked pole dancer. The raunchy 9,000 square metre advert, promoting myprivatedance.com, is painted on a field under the incoming flight path.
Eight people used 3,000 litres of biodegradable white paint to produce the advert, which took three days to finish.
The company responsible, Flightpath Media, specialises in large scale adverts near airports. They rent the field in question for similar promotions, which last sex magazines up to a month at a time before being mowed away.
But not everyone thinks a huge naked woman is the first thing that the thousands of daily visitors to Britain should see. There's been an outcry amongst prudish passengers and indignant local councils.
The Council for the Protection of Rural England said it was "a tacky advert which set a nasty precedent", and Tanbridge District Council, responsible fetish porn for the field, are threatening legal action against the media company.
